| Problem: | The software in enterprise versions includes the product
CoreXL. This feature uses not only multiple processors, but all cores of
each processor. A performance increase is the consequence. CoreXL and therefore also the gateway software requires a corresponding license since it doesn't work with the wrong license or even no license for CoreXL. |
| About licenses: |
The license must fit at least to the installed cores! The number of cores to be licensed is the number of cores of the whole system, e.g. Two Quad Core processors require an eight core container. Use a dual core container for computers with Dual Core processor. Examples: Even when high performance is not needed, a quad core container is necessary on a system with a Quad Core processor, installing a dual core container is not sufficient. It might happen that the firewall doesn't work at all! When having a eight core container installed on a system with a Quad Core
processor, no problems will arise. |
